Can wellness go beyond the spa and live in hotels at all price points?

As consumers take a whole-life approach to wellness, hotel developers, owners, and operators must find ways to meet that demand at all price points. There’s always going to be room in the world for luxury and spa resorts and five-star city hotels that appeal to “primary” wellness travelers whose principal reason for selecting a property is its wellness offer. That said, the broader traveling public does not have the means to choose a high-end wellness property every time they stay away from home, nor do they want to. This is where “secondary” wellness travel comes into play – where the overall purpose of the trip is not wellness-focused, but the traveler makes accommodation decisions based on a hotel’s wellness features.
